Director, Amazon Marketing and Growth

About the role:

unybrands is seeking a Director of Amazon Advertising and Growth who has expertise in building world-class growth strategy and execution skills to drive growth on Amazon. This is a leadership role and provides an opportunity to build, own, and execute our strategy to grow existing brands and launch new brands on Amazon. In order to be successful, you will build a team of high-performers, coordinate working with external agencies and marketing partners, and own all performance marketing initiatives on Amazon. You will own and build the growth plans for each brand incorporating inputs such as pricing and product strategy, inventory assessment and forecasting, marketing mix, and customer experience.

Responsibilities include-but not limited to:

Growth Strategy

  • Develop a brand growth strategy for new acquisitions as well as for existing brands

  • Determine the category, country, and marketing mix for each brand

  • Own unified growth plans across all brands

  • Develop a playbook and build long term capabilities to onboard brands onto the unybrands platform

  • Develop x-brand strategy

  • Own the process of performing diligence on potential acquisition businesses to determine their growth potential

Execution

  • Set and deliver monthly, quarterly, annual targets for budgets, revenue, and bottom line

  • Own and manage advertising on Amazon marketplaces

  • Own and execute the promotional calendar for each brand to drive incremental revenue

  • Test hypothesis to build a playbook of scalable and repeatable best practices-incorporate them

  • Work with analytics, tech, or agency partners to build reporting and insights capabilities to enhance operational excellence

  • Build and test GTM plans for new product launches to help determine product-market fit

Leadership

  • Provide subject matter expertise on all things related to Amazon growth operation

  • Manage direct reports and external partners against KPIs

  • Build your team, hire external vendors, Account Executive relationships

  • Build processes, best practices, and a culture of test and learn

  • Provide inputs into product strategy, inventory planning, and pricing

A successful team member will have:

  • 7+ years of growth marketing experience with a focus on performance marketing for DTC brands

  • 3+ years of Amazon advertising experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree in relevant field preferred

  • Experience in managing budgets and P&L

  • Experience in leading teams

  • Strong domain knowledge of Amazon advertising, PPC channel optimization, and/or paid search marketing, marketing analytics, and foundational marketing-tech

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • Ability to be hands-on as well as strategic
